The Layout
I’ve been working to build an On30 model railroad for several years, but moves and other events have derailed my attempts to build anything more than a few modules to date. The modules are built to the MADModule specs, which I helped to develop several years ago. The modules are described in detail in the Modular category of the site. Further, these modules are planned to become an integral part of a permanent layout in the very near future.
One of the things that had been holding up my railroading satisfaction was the lack of a theme that really satisfied me. Plans were drawn for industrial, Eastern mountain and Maryland Eastern Shore railroads — construction even started on the Eastern Shore railroad. However, a trip to Maine and the Wiscasett, Waterville & Farmington reminded me of what drew me to narrow gauge modeling in the first place — Maine two-footers!
Once I can get back to proper modeling, I’ll be writing about it all again.
